Getting Out of Bed in the AM
In my last post I said that I was working towards doing a triathlon the end of July, called the "Dam It Man", held at Elephant Butte Lake N.M. In order for me to get out of bed in the morning and go swim or run or bike I need to have something to work towards, that is why I picked that triathlon. It has been said that it is a fairly difficult one to do for a beginner, like me, it is an open water swim and most sprint triathlons are in a pool, plus it has some hills. The open water swim does not bother me, having spent all most all my life living at the beach, I used to do a lot of surfing, it is a good idea to be a good swimmer if you surf even though most surfers do not want to swim. ( the more you swim the less you surf ) What I do not have is a bike that will let me do a race like that. Working towards an event helps to keep me, working on my weight, I have gained back about 15 of the 170 pounds that have lost. Well, you might say that is not to bad only gained back 15 out 170. The problem is, if you ignore the 15 before you know it, you have gained 25 then 50 then, before long you are back where you started. So will I do the "Dam It Man" triathlon or not, I will have to let you know later, but for now I am going train like I will be doing it.
