This is not only about losing weight but also getting fit. Getting fit enough enough to enjoy your life, to do all the things that you have always wanted to do but could not do because you were over weight and or out of shape. I hope that it inspires all who visit this blog to get fit.

Three Years and a Lot of Miles
Three years ago I started to change my life. It was not an impressive start, there were no big changes. I did one simple thing. I walked around the block where I lived. On Tuesday June 3, 2008, at about 8:00 a.m. I went out my front door and walked around the block, now I live on a hill, short but kind of steep, and on the uphill part I had to stop 3 times to rest, after the first time, I did it again. I walked a total of two thirds of mile and it took me 20 min. The next day I got up and did it again, by the end of June I had walked 26 days and logged a total of 35.5 miles for the month of June. I started two things that day, one was regular exercise and the other was keeping a journal of my exercise. Back then my resting pulse was between 80-85 now it is between 45-50, I used to have to take 2 different types of medications twice a day for type 2 diabetes. Now I control it with diet and exercise,NO MEDS. In June by just walking I went from 355 lbs. to 345 lbs. a total of 10 pounds. It was the hardest ten pounds to lose!
